So here is week one. From lovely Austin, TX it is the State Capitol.

I met her for lunch in Gruene, Texas so our first stop was the Gristmill.

We then went to the Winery on the Gruene. I am not a huge wine drinker, but these were pretty tasty.

My favorite was the Blackberry Merlot. Really tasty. It was sweet but not so sweet that it gives me a headache.

We also hit up a few antique stores, and I saw Lucious Malfoys cane.

Afterward we headed to historic Gruene Hall to listen to some live music. Because of the rain I avoided shooting with my camera and kept to my iPhone.

The name of the band was the Chris Reust Band.

Pretty good band, with a pretty good sound.

Sunday was spent Apartment hunting so nothing exciting there.

Forgot to post this photo last night, this is from the walk along the Museum Reach.

Under this water, there is a dam, or what is left of it.

The Spanish put in this dam, and the people of San Antonio forgot about it.

Until they found it while working on the reach.

The lights in the water mark where the dam was at, so they are not part of the neat Christmas display.

This tent was the first thing I noticed as I walked into the event. All of the other tents were pretty normal looking.

I think this is the tent where you could get your final time. I was not interested in my time at all.

The concert area. There were a lot of people at the race.  The band was ok, it was your typical bar band playing a bunch of cover songs.

And the finisher metal. Excellent.

The race was a lot of fun, and a bit more challenging than the half marathon.

The obstacles made it a really fun challenge, and I have to recommend it.

Today was a little celebration at the office because one of the stations, KAJA in fact one a CMA award for best country station.

On top of that, the office was listed as #12 on the top 20 places in San Antonio to work at.

So, starting at 12:30 we had BBQ and live music out back with free beer.

Inside we had video game stations setup and in the front we had games of Washers.

This doorway is leads into an old house that sits in the middle of a field outside of Acuff, Texas.

I am watching an episode of Dr. Who right now and the episode made me think of this day.

How could my life be like Dr. Who? No I do not ride around in a blue box and fight things/save the world or anything special, however in this episode a character breaks into an abandoned house to take photographs because she likes to photograph old things.

Sounds like she is on an epic photo adventure.

I get to go to Rockport this weekend!

Last time I was there I had tons of photo adventures all over the town, and shot this pretty bird having a snack on the back of a shrimp boat.

I miss the mountains of El Paso. But I am glad to be home in San Antonio.
