Disderi Robot Camera

Disderi Robot Camera

I went through a few more of my pictures from my Disderi Robot Cameras, and found a few more from my bike ride that I really liked. Also there are some shots of my New Years Trip to Austin. I have some older shots on the camera, because it sat in my bag for about a year; however a lot of them where under exposed; which is odd for 400 ISO.

Up above is a church near San Antonio College, which sits at the top of a very steep hill.

Here are some of the shots that I liked:

Some mispelled graffiti, how can you not be a fan?

This shot I did not even know existed. Apparently I decided to bug my friend Jacie with this little camera while I was in Austin.

The Rotunda at the Texas State Capitol. Not sure how I missed this last night. I really like this.

And of course to finish off the roll, here is my awesome bike while I was taking a little break.

Everyday Beauty

Last weekend I went back to Lubbock to attend a friends wedding.

After the reception, we lit some fireworks which quickly burned out thanks to the Lubbock wind.

It was supposed to be a tunnel of light for the bride and groom to run through, however the sparklers where out before they got to the door.

Considering the fire danger that Lubbock was under, seems like an odd choice; but I guess it is better than throwing rice and watching the birds explode.

Photos from the weekend – SXSW

14th March 2011, (0 Comments)

Now it is time for Epic Weekend Part 2, SXSW. That picture above is the Tasty Patty Melt, that I had at 24 diner. Danielle and I met our friend Ben.

Ben is a buddy of mine from college who is now a resident of Austin, so it was good seeing him and discussing the glory days of KTXT.

We then headed to the convention center where we ran into the little mascots from Xtranormal.

But then we saw a 4sq check-in from another friend and who else could it be but Allison.

Enjoying the tasty food bits at the Foodspotting trucks. That is where i got this amazing cupcake of doom.

We then headed to the convention proper, and hung out at the Pepsi booth, I spent a lot of time at last years Pepsi Playground meeting people, it was a good place to hang out, and that has not changed.

As a change of pace, this year, the lego’s were dumped on a table. Last year they had Lego sculptures for people to look at, but this year SXSW wanted conference attendees to build things with legos. An excellent decision, because last year the Lego’s didn’t fit in with Screenburn Arcade.

Speaking of, at Screenburn I saw this guy. He claims to be 1/2 the Joker, 1/2 the Riddler and 1/2 Two-Face, but that math does not seem to add up.

After that, we were pretty tired so we decided to make our way back to the cars, that is when i got to sample some Liquid HTML 5. It was ok, but I do not agree with this IE 9 cup, because I only got a half serving.

Tons of mascots this year, I do not remember this many last year.

Photos from the weekend

07th March 2011, (0 Comments)

This weekend I have to start with Friday. In the middle of the work day, the office shut down to welcome Jack Hanna to the office. And he in turn showed off several of his animals.

Here he is with a Cheetah Cub. One of the little kids asked if the Cheetah is made of Cheetos. Sadly, he is not. That makes me a little sad.

After, I  headed downtown to see the first Friday artwalk in San Antonio. I have been to several artwalks in Lubbock, but this is my first one in San Antonio.

There where people selling weird things, like these

Then I saw a friend of mine from high school getting his Portrait painted, and I thought that was pretty cool.

Then I went and got cupcakes at this bakery. Since this is South Town, and I get lost easily, I have no idea where this is.

But the cupcakes are amazing.

Sunday found me at Breckenridge park on my bike riding around. I headed down the first trail I found, and all the trails seem to lead to this spot and then fork off in different directions.

On one of the trails was this little Tree house thing

There are three trails to ride on, with varying lengths. Each trail is marked with a symbol like this:

I believe this marking was for the longest trail, the wildlife trail. I did not see very much wildlife, but that is the trail.

My car was parked near this cool bridge.

A long distance adventure

06th March 2011, (0 Comments)

Back when I lived in Lubbock, a group of friends and I went on weekly photo adventures. I say weekly, but sometimes there where multiple adventures during the week.

This is when we would hop into a car, pick a direction and drive, without a care in the world. Hunting down items to photograph. Sometimes just hitting up antique stores, but always looking for fun.

As things happen, some of us graduated college and moved away. Some graduated college and stayed behind.

We organized a group on Facebook with the effort of organizing an adventure, but since we are so far apart a physical adventure has not happened yet. It was then decided that a long distance adventure should occur.

We organized a bit more, created the site and then put a bunch of themes in a hat. The first theme was chosen, the photo I posted last night.

The next theme will be chosen tonight, and then we will have 2 weeks to shoot it.

I think this will be a fun challenge.

There is also a Poll, where you can vote on who has the best photo.

Vote on it here.
