Today, Rob and I tried to develop B&W film by hand tonight.

It was a partial success, part of the film was developed correctly and part of it was underdeveloped.

The above photo was not the roll used in developing, it was used to figure out how to wind the film on the spool without looking. To do this, I put my hands under a trash bag and took apart a can of film, wound it around the spool and placed it into the canister.

I figured if I could do it with a test roll without looking, then I could do it in the dark.

Well we screwed up somewhere during the chemical process, not sure where. Tomorrow I am heading to the camera store to see what advice they can give me.

Went with a friend to the local camera store, Armadillo Camera. The reason for going was to pick up a cord to attach my external flash to my camera so I could use the flash off the camera.

While I was there, I remembered that I had purchased a kit online that came with all the chemicals needed to develop black and white film and four rolls of film.

The canister and spool to wrap the film around did not come with the kit, however so I purchased the necessary tools.

The nice thing about the people at the local camera store is; whenever you embark on a project like this, they provide plenty of advice on how to do it and not mess it up or in this case, get injured.

I am really excited to start on this project, my friend Rob is going to help me out, because he has developed film before and he knows how to do it.

I have read any tutorial I can find online, to see what issues other first time film developers have run in to.

I just hope that the photos that I shot on the film are any good, otherwise this will all be for nothing.
