A final stroll through campus
02nd August 2010, (0 Comments)

Last night, for a final Lubbock Tweetup for me, I organized a little walk through campus to see the sights.
There are four points of interest on campus that I love. The first is the statue garden, near human sciences. These statues when seen at night are pretty in a creepy dreamlike sense.
I do not know how many times I have walked through campus and come upon one of these statues and not been surprised to see it.

And then there is the Blarney stone. According to legend, and the plaque that is attached to this pillar; this is a chunk of the stone from Blarney Castle that (got sucked through a black hole) and ended up in Lubbock, Texas.
If this really is a piece of the Blarney stone, I would love to know how the heck it ended up in Lubbock, however I have to doubt this is.
Also, if you have kissed this rock to get “the gift of gab” all I have to say is Gross!
And then there is the admin building.
This building is awesome to look at, I love it when there are lights all over it at Christmas time.
And then there is the big silver ball.
When you push the button on the silver ball of doom (not the real name) it makes a chime sound that is supposed to sound like the sun:
The video is after dark, so you will not be able to hear it very well.
These are my favorite sights on campus, what are yours?
