My buddy Rob already posted about this, so now it is my turn.
Recently, I found on one of the various blogs I read a call for entries for a photo book using toy cameras. This photobook is a fundraiser for Toys for Tots, more specifically; Toys for Tots raising money for the children in Joplin.
I submitted a photo, because it was a cause i could believe in. Children deserve toys for Christmas. I submitted and got accepted into the book. It should be out soon I hope.
I shot this photo of these little guitars during fiesta back in April, and I think they sum up the theme for the book perfectly. As a little kid I used to play one of these guitars a write country and western songs. I would record them on an old cassette deck.
I am glad these recordings do not exist.
I am not sure when the book will come out, it is produced by Composing with images Press.
Currently they have raised $1200 for Toys for Tots, which is huge.

Shot this the other day at Mission Conception while on a bike ride.
I shot mostly with my holga, but I am waiting for the film to get back.
I like Mission Conception, very pretty. Much prettier than the Alamo.
And the bike ride to it from Blue Star Brewery is really a pretty ride.

This past weekend, UTSA had their first ever football game and I jumped at the opportunity to shoot it for work.
It has been a long time since I have shot football, but this was a blast. I have to say shooting in the Alamodome is a real treat. No Lubbock sandstorms, no hot weather. Just perfect conditions all around. Here are some of my favorite shots:

You gotta love a marching band to get the festivities started.

UTSA likes the running game, they run the ball a lot.

But they scored touchdowns with their running game, so I guess it works.

Since this was UTSA’s first football game in school history the students rushed the field after their easy victory.

This dude was so excited he got naked.

I am really pleased with this shot.
I grabbed it the other day in downtown San Antonio, this is the Aztec Theatre, one of the really old Theaters in San Antonio.
Shot on a Holga 120 with Kodak Portra 160.

This lovely shot of the Alamo came because of an accident. I forgot to put a mask in my camera. I have wanted to make custom masks out of cardboard, or cut a shape and put it on a mask, but i have never gotten around to it. This was a happy accident, and I can not be more thrilled with the resulting shot.
Normally, I shoot my Holgaroids without a mask, but I think I will shoot more regular Holga shots without the mask.
Everyone knows what the Alamo is, and what happened here 175 years ago, so I do not think I need to go into too much detail on that.
Shot with a Holga 120 CMY on Kodak film. I must remember to be better about remembering the types of film I shoot with.
