This tree came from World Wide Pinhole day, while I was out on a hike with some friends in OP Schnabel Park.

In fact. Chris Fecio got an awesome 4×5 shot of the tree growing out of the rocks. I love trees like this, considering how big of a struggle this tree has to get all the nutrients it needs while growing out of a boulder.

This past weekend was World Pinhole Day, a holiday I have enjoyed shooting many times before, and this year was no exception.

I had some friends come into town, so on Pinhole’s Day Eve we headed down town to go on a night time photowalk and I setup a tripod with my Diana Multi Pinhole and a roll of 100 speed Kodak Ektar. I decided to try and shoot the lights of downtown right as a storm was going in, there was all this amazing lighting on this 32 minute exposure.

Coincidentally, there was a parade as part of Fiesta going on just a few blocks away, then the thunder and lightning struck. It started pouring, everyone panicked and left the parade. I had just enough time to get to shelter and setup the tripod for a new photograph, the one you see above.

Unfortunately in my panic to get out of the rain, I failed to notice that my pinhole had switched to multiple apertures.

This is 32 minutes of rain, lightning and people stuck in traffic as they try to leave downtown San Antonio. On 3 apertures.

I love this photograph even though it is an accident. I love the motion from the traffic lights as people try to get away. I also really enjoy the look of the sky in this shot.

I will need to take my pinhole out at night more often.

This Weeks Happy Tree Tuesday comes from OP Schnabel Park in San Antonio. I have actually never really explored this park before, but when on a Hike through it with my Yashica ME-1 and explored the cliffs for a bit that are back in there.

There are some really neat spots back in there, and I definitely think I am going to load up my pinhole camera and give it a good ride on my bike in the next few weeks.

I am not 100 percent certain on what this little poofball is. I Shot it during a photo walk in the San Antonio Botanical Gardens.

In one of the green houses, which has a delightful warning that a fog machine may be in use, this little guy is growing on a plant on the side of one of the trees.

Shot this on my Holga with the polaroid back a few weeks ago; this while walking along the San Antonio river from Espada Aqueduct to Espada Dam.

This part of the mission reach is not open to the public, but is easy to sneak into on accident if you know the correct trail.

March of Film has started and this is the first entry I have.

MoF is a project started by my friend Amanda and I back in 2012 and we have been having lots of fun with it. Last year we assigned a bunch of themes for film photographers to interpret and shoot and then share.

This year we have stepped it up a wee bit.

Anyway the project has started, and this is my first shot for the theme Angles.

Another Happy Tree Tuesday post. This tree is over by Espada Dam on the south side of San Antonio, I took this shot while leaning up against the tree just playing with my Holga with the Instant back and the wide angle lens.
