The Joke

06th October 2008, (0 Comments)

This is a class assignment from my Sophomore year in college. We had to shoot and edit a joke based around the premise of “A Guy Walks into a Bar.”

Can’t remember when I shot this, but finally it is uploaded to YouTube.

Sunset after the flood

Sunset after the flood,

Tonight, before I went to shoot a football game, I walked outside my apartment and the lake looked like this. I could not resist taking a picture of it.

So it has been raining all day today, and will continue to rain for the rest of the weekend. I got a new lens today and have been itching to try it out. I waited for it to let up and then got this picture really quick.

The joy of parking on campus

10th September 2008, (0 Comments)

Parking on campus has always been a chore. The past two years have been especially bad. This morning I woke up at 8 a.m. drove to campus and parked at the very back of the Jone’s AT&T parking lot.

My first class is at 10, but this gives me plenty of time to park, run to Starbucks, smoke a cigarette with my coffee and prepare anything that is still unfinished from the class day before.

So today on my way back from class, walking the awful walk to the back of the parking lot I ran across this.

At a university, where parking in the wrong spot will get you a ticket, and parking without a pass can get a boot placed on your wheel, and then towed. How did this just kind of slip through the parking enforcers fingers.

What really bothers me, is walking around the boat, it looks like it was abandoned.  The inside of the boat looked rotted, and unsafe to take out on any water deeper than a baby pool.  I have limited knowledge of boating that I gained in Boy Scouts, but even our boats back then looked safer than this thing.

Why was this boat not towed away, or at the very least given a ticket for parking on campus without a permit, since there is not a permit on campus for boat parking.

New site, new blog, same old nerd

05th June 2008, (0 Comments)

So as the story goes, my old domain name died.  Simonponder.com is no more.  Sad I know, but someone else owns it, I do not know how to buy it back.  Thankfully I still have all of the old posts because I am still hosted by the same server.

I am debating on whether or not I need to insert the old posts into the new blog.  I wrote those posts at a different time in my life, I like knowing they still exist, but I do not know if they are still me.  I like to believe I have matured a bit since then.  And I am curious to figure out, if there is a time, when an old blog needs to die and make way for a new blog.  Is there a point in the history of a blog, when it has become such a burden to find new material for a blog, maybe it has run its course.

I am thinking that I might import them, just to break my blog and learn a few more things about how WordPress works, and how PHP MyAdmin works.

I plan on blogging here about everything of value, or humor that I find on the internet, which means, “Life, the universe and everything in it.”
